Usability Testing
Usability testing is a crucial step in the product development process because it provides valuable insights into the user experience. By observing how real users interact with a product, designers and developers can identify pain points, areas for improvement, and overall user satisfaction levels.
Through usability testing, companies can ensure that their products are intuitive, easy to use, and meet the needs of their target audience. This helps in increasing customer satisfaction, reducing support costs, and ultimately driving revenue.
Incorporating usability testing into the product development cycle allows companies to make informed decisions based on concrete data rather than assumptions. It helps in identifying design flaws early on, leading to more efficient iterations and a better end product.
Overall, usability testing is a cost-effective way to improve the user experience, increase customer loyalty, and stay ahead of the competition in today's saturated market.
We price all testing projects per-participant. This way, you will always know how much it will cost to test your products and services with 5, 10, and even 50 people.
The all-inclusive* price range is $375 to $1,275 per-participant and is based on:
Recruiting — Do you need feedback from “anyone with internet access” or “palliative care nurses in rural settings with over 35 years of experience”?
Facilitation — Via Zoom or in-person?
Synthesis — Do you want high-level themes or a detailed analysis with statistically significant data?
Reporting — Do you need a simple email with a list of things to fix or a shiny presentation to convince executives to invest millions of dollars?
Basically, how much effort it will take to get you the results you need determines where in the range your project sits.
*Prototype creation is a separate price. We can chat about that. Travel and lodging are billed at-cost.
Examples of how we’ve helped
We spent two weeks testing a new, internal application for Allmed. That work led to us redesigning their app and increasing their ARR by $10,000,000 a year.
Our project with Mayo Clinic to test their DNA testing service prior to launch helped them better position the offering so that the path to purchasing a DNA kit was clearer and more trustworthy.
